Food donations can be made any time. A bin is located to the left of the main doors. For assistance, please ask the greeter who is available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3 pm, and Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm.

This is a list of items that we are always in need of:

Cereal and oatmeal

Peanut butter and other nut butters (for those with allergies)

Canned meat, including tuna fish and chicken

Macaroni and cheese/ ramen/ pasta

Canned soup, particularly hearty soups such as Progresso

Beans and rice

Canned vegetables

Canned tomato products

Instant potatoes and rice

Soup packages (only hot water needed)

We also have food bank visitors who are living out of their cars or on the streets. They do not have any access to a refrigerator or stove. They appreciate when they can get food that is in smaller portions and doesn’t require preparation.

I am a retired science educator and naturalist. My research focuses on reptiles, mostly snakes. Also, I am interested in dogs and their evolution. Protecting the environment should be a high priority for everyone, particularly politicians. They seem to be in denial over the idea that the environment is our life support system - once it's damaged, it may not be fixable.
